Contemporary Collage Collection: A Dance of Whimsy and Reflection
This collection is a vibrant journey through layered narratives, where playful imagination meets the deeper currents of personal expression. Each piece starts with one of my signature tessellated patterns or a photograph I’ve taken, becoming a canvas that I build upon intuitively or with intent. I find elements through a meditative process of discovery—whether cutting from magazines, searching through my archives, or creating them digitally—each piece takes on a life of its own, sometimes speaking clearly, and other times holding a more subtle conversation.
Collage is my way of reclaiming my voice—a voice once suppressed. Through bold contrasts, unexpected juxtapositions, and bursts of color, I shout, whisper, and reflect on the world as I see it. Some collages convey pointed social commentary, while others are playful escapes into whimsical worlds.
